ELIGIBILITY & FIT
Q: Do I need prior game development experience?
A: No. The program teaches game development from the ground up. We’re looking for curiosity and a love of games, not existing skills. If you’ve built something before, even something tiny, that’s a big plus.
Q: What CGPA do I need to apply?
A: There’s no minimum cutoff.
Q: Can non-CS students apply?
A: Yes. Exceptional candidates from any engineering or technology discipline are welcome. Passion for games and aptitude for programming matter more than your specific major.
Q: Can 4th-year and dual degree students apply, or is the program open to only 3rd-year students?
A: Both 3rd year, 4th year and dual degree students are eligible for phase 1. However, for the Bangalore phase (Phase 2) only 3rd year students are eligible
Q: Is this open to universities other than IIT Madras?
A: KIGI academy is exclusive to IIT Madras as of now

A: Personal details, academic background, your interest in games, a link to any game or project you’ve built (quality doesn’t matter), and a 200-word motivation statement, plus confirmation you can commit to the full schedule.
